The Unravelings of a Looneyman

I have finally finished sorting all my buttons so I can better utilized them.

I got to thinking that when I need buttons in a sewing project, I selected them by color first than size. So I have sorted them all by color. The idea to sort them came to me when I was looking at a bunch of Crystal Light contains that I could not throw away because they had to be useful for something.

The picture below is my new button shelf in my disaster area of a studio. I took the picture on my cell phone so the quaility is not the best!!!

Today was the first time in over a year that I sewed something for me!!!!

I have had this idea over the last 3 or 4 months that I wanted a bomber style jacket for this winter. So over the past 3 days I have worked on making the fabric. Yes I said making the fabric.

The jacket is going to made out of fabric that I create with a technique I came up with to use thread that I will not sew with!! I have a bit more work to finish on the fabric. When the fabric is completed I will post a picture of it before I cut out the jacket.

Not back to 100% yet about 60% though!!!! I am doing Ok. The Dr is extremely happy with my progress and so am I in 20 days it makes a year with this crap!!! Yucky!!!

I am still alive sorry I have not posted in a long time. I am slowly getting better. The Dr thinks I should be fully recovered by summer with no long term damage!!!!

I have not been sewing much. Most days I am not able to and when I do get to spend sometime in the studio it is not much but I enjoy it immensely!!!

Hello!

I am doing OK. Not as great as I would like. I have been increasing my activity level hoping to get my “normal” life back when I go back to the Dr on the 22nd. It is not going as well as I would like. Would not say it is going bad just not as fabulous as I would like.

With the meds the Neurologist has me on it has mitigated about 90% of  my headaches and other neurological symptoms. However that was if I only stay about at a 25% normal activity level. When I increase my activity level to 50% to 75% of normal activity the meds effectiveness drops to about 50%! So I am going to call tomorrow and schedule a visit with my Neurologist this week instead of waiting for another almost 2 weeks.

Not sure what he will say but I will post and update!

Hello All or no one! (Whichever it may be!)

The doctor has put me on new meds now for a month. It has mitigated most of the headaches so my body can heal itself.

The beginning of November my doctor referred me to a neurologist. The neurologist said that my body had gotten stuck in a catch 22. He said that the meningitis causes the headaches and other symptoms which then sidetracks my body into dealing with those instead of the swelling around my brain and spinal column. And because it is not getting rid of the swelling it is just causing more symptoms.

The new meds leave me feeling like trash most of the time. However I am willing to put up with that so my body can get rid of the meningitis.

When I feel up to it I sew a bit.

This experience has changed my outlook on life. I now consider any day that I am above the ground to be a good day!!! I keep reminding myself that their are others that are way worse off than I am!!!!

Well I have gotten in the past couple of months 2 new embroidery software toys!!! Just wish I felt better to play with them more.

The first one I have already posted about. It is Bernina Artista Designer Plus Version 6. I have played with it a bit and I am in love!!! It is totally awesome. I still can’t believe the toys they have added to Version 6.

The 2nd one is the Bernina Cutwork Attachment!! I am still learning it but I am in love with it. I am in the process of reading the manual so I can learn it and write a class to teach it. It will allow me to do cutwork embroidery with the machine doing the cutting for me!!!

I will post more on it later!

Hello all,

I am doing mostly bettter hoping to get this recovery out of the way! I want to get my normal life back!!

I am attaching a picture of me doing my 2nd marathon in October of last year in my purple rasta wig!!! Go Team!!!

I just came acrossed this picture of me doing my first marathon! Don’t I look fabulous!!! LOL

I have done both of my marathons for Team in Training.

I am doing a bit better. Still a rollercoaster ride. Can go from not bad to a huge headache and feeling like I was hit by a bus in 10 minutes!

I was able to make 2 vests and a floor length embossed velveteen coat!! It was beautiful! I will post a picture of the coat when I get one. I am emailing the person I made it for to see if I can get a photo. Unfortunately in my Vicodin haze I did not take one. I may make myself a version of it.
