The Unravelings of a Looneyman

On Saturday June 20th I was one of the course sweepers for Mayor’s Full Marathon. I was a course sweeper for Team in Training. GO TEAM! I have now completed a full marathon and a half marathon and swept for Mayors. I really like the feeling of finishing a marathon.

I do marathons in honor of 2 friends/choosen family Bill and Bryant. I plan on doing more of them! I am hooked. The feeling of crossing the finish line is like no other! Not to mention Team in Training is a great reason to do them. Everyday we still have people dying from blood cancers. Treatment has come a long way but it is still not fully developed. And until that time I choose to kick cancers butt one step at a time!

I actually missed the gym last week. It was nice having the rest week off but at the same time it feels great to be back at the gym.

I was asked to make a banner for a friends birthday!!! Since I do good fabric I said sure.

I was told he hates flamingos, pink and tacky stuff. So my little brain got to thinking (and we all know exactly how scary that is!) So I decided to make it white with a flamingo border, pink letters and an Airstream trailer with a satilite dish and  palm trees. Then I decided it needed something more. But I just could not put my finger on it!

I thought a while (I know there I go thinking again) and thought needs metallic thread and rhinestones!!! Lots of rhinestones!

Last night we went and saw My Sisters Keeper!! It was a very fabulous movie. However it did hoave everyone in the theater crying!!

The premise of the movie is an 11 yr old sueing her parents for medical emancipation because they had her specifically to save her older sisters life. The older sister suffers from a rare form of Luekemia. The movie was very well done. I think it portayed pretty close what haveing cancer is like and what the treatments are like. I have never gode through it myself but I have helped friends and family members go through it.  I strongly recommend that everyone go see the movie!!

I want to go see it again.

I found some great marathon shirts on Cafepress.com. I love them. I am thinking about ordering them.
