I am still alive sorry I have not posted in a long time. I am slowly getting better. The Dr thinks I should be fully recovered by summer with no long term damage!!!!
I have not been sewing much. Most days I am not able to and when I do get to spend sometime in the studio it is not much but I enjoy it immensely!!!
Hugs to all!!!
I promise I will start posting more!

Hello!
I am doing OK. Not as great as I would like. I have been increasing my activity level hoping to get my “normal” life back when I go back to the Dr on the 22nd. It is not going as well as I would like. Would not say it is going bad just not as fabulous as I would like.
With the meds the Neurologist has me on it has mitigated about 90% of my headaches and other neurological symptoms. However that was if I only stay about at a 25% normal activity level. When I increase my activity level to 50% to 75% of normal activity the meds effectiveness drops to about 50%! So I am going to call tomorrow and schedule a visit with my Neurologist this week instead of waiting for another almost 2 weeks.
Not sure what he will say but I will post and update!
Hugs to all!!

Hello All or no one! (Whichever it may be!)
The doctor has put me on new meds now for a month. It has mitigated most of the headaches so my body can heal itself.
The beginning of November my doctor referred me to a neurologist. The neurologist said that my body had gotten stuck in a catch 22. He said that the meningitis causes the headaches and other symptoms which then sidetracks my body into dealing with those instead of the swelling around my brain and spinal column. And because it is not getting rid of the swelling it is just causing more symptoms.
The new meds leave me feeling like trash most of the time. However I am willing to put up with that so my body can get rid of the meningitis.
When I feel up to it I sew a bit.
This experience has changed my outlook on life. I now consider any day that I am above the ground to be a good day!!! I keep reminding myself that their are others that are way worse off than I am!!!!

I am doing a bit better. Still a rollercoaster ride. Can go from not bad to a huge headache and feeling like I was hit by a bus in 10 minutes!
I was able to make 2 vests and a floor length embossed velveteen coat!! It was beautiful! I will post a picture of the coat when I get one. I am emailing the person I made it for to see if I can get a photo. Unfortunately in my Vicodin haze I did not take one. I may make myself a version of it.
Hugs to off will post more later.

On July 27th I came down with what appearred to be the flu. On the morning of the 28th I was running a 101.0 degree tempand had a major headache. That scared me enough to go to the Doctor on the 29th. I spent the next 2 weeks getting CAT scanned, MRI’ed, blood draws and visits to the Doctors office. During that 2 weeks I even had an emergency room visit.
Finally a spinal tap was proformed and it was discovered I have Viral Meningitis. There are 2 kinds of the Viral version. One that goes away with anti-viral meds and one that does not. The one that does goes away in 7 to 10 days. The version I have (the kind that does not go away with meds) takes upto 3 months to go away. And the whole time I get to have the headache.
I am currently at home on meds for the headaches and working on recovering. I have really good days and days that are not so great!! I am hoping that it will go away soon.
Will update everyone on how it is going.
And to top it off I have not been able to sew!!!!! I am hoping I can start sewing soon so I have something to do!!

Hello All,
It has been a long time since I posted!! Over a month!!
It has been an emotional month. On July 10th I found out one of the 2 people I had completed my 2 Team in Training Marathons for died. He was only 8 years old and had spent the last 2 years fighting Lymphoma. It was a very large blow to me. I spent over a week bursting into tears. Was a very difficult time. About the time I was dealing better with that I started not feeling well.
